Google Chrome OS. it is very well done. It is an open-sourced operating system, but irponically it is being made privately. So that is a little strange. It is also out of character for Google seeing as most of their stuff is available, or able to be edited online. I also like their internet browser google chrome. If it is anything like the OS then we are in for something big! Also, Google announced that the Chrome OS will feature a novel security architecture. According to Google’s official announcement, they will be “going back to the basics and completely redesigning the underlying security architecture of the OS so that users don’t have to deal with viruses, malware and security updates

Google Latitude uses a tiny GPS (Global Positioning System) in your phone and the cell phone towers to pin point where you are. This technology is a dream come true for stalkers everywhere!!! Not only that but it even helps scary pedofiles.

Facebook

Facebook also poses potential privacy concerns because people are naive and post their personal information like their phone number andress. Also with people constantly updating their status anyone could now when you are not home and rob you by the time you came back.

Employers

I personally beleive that employers should not use what people post on the internet towards considering who they should hire for a specific job. The government of Canada has created laws to protect people’s privacy so I beleive that  this should be treated the same way.

NetGear Powerline

The NetGear Powerline is an amazing invention. I think it is one of the most interesting
peices of technology I have seen in some time. Firstly I will explain what it does. It replaces
a wireless router by turning the electrical grid in your house into a home grid. It is also simple
to use too, all you do is plug the ethernet cable from router into your first box. Then plug another
cable from your computer into the second box. Then plug both boxes into the closest electrical
outlet, and your’e done.

I am very impressed with how handy this thing is. It was even helpul to my grandpa. Here is what
happened. My grandpa had his computer set up on the opposite side of the room from where the
internet jack was. The problem was that the only way he could get a cable from one side of the
room to the other would be by crossing a door way and he didn’t want to cut up his carpet so he
could fit the cable underneath. So decided to go with a wireless router. Unfortunately the wireless
connection kept cutting in and out so it got annoying. One day I told him about this and he tried it
out for a little bit and hasn’t switched since.

Why Easy Grading Is Good for Your Career

I think that this article highlights the problems with the education system. One thing that should never happen is a teacher being forced
to pass a student who simply did not do ANYTHING. The student gets a good grade if they try hard. A student that simply comes to class
should not get a C if they did terrible on tests and completed nothing. The parents should also learn how to help their kids more. Kids
simply should not have to look to their teachers for a role model, their parents should provide that.

The iPhone is an insane electronic because it incorporates pretty much anything you can think of. It has obviously first and fore most a phone ,it allows interenet browsing, you can access an exclusive apps store and download anything from a gps map, to games to the weather report to an application that tells you when the oversheild will respawn in halo 3.

One thing that definitely makes the iPhone distinct is it’s touch screen. this is rlly what set it apart from the blackberry and other phones similar to it. Now due to the popularity of the iPhone the Blackberry is going to make their next phone with a touch screen to try to keep up with the new found liking towards a touch screen.

The next technology I beleive are revolutionary is the HP Touch smart Computer. I think that this computer is quite intruiging because it is the  computer I have ever heard of to have a touch screen. It has an simple way of replacing the mouse too, to left-click tap once, to right-click simply touch and hold for 2 seconds. I find it kind of funny because i can still remember my uncle scolding me for touching his computer screen when i was a little kid.

John Maccain did not do nearly as much online campaigning as his adversary Obama. John Maccain’s website is boring and hard to navigate. I personally had troubles finding anything. I eventually gave up using his website and reverted back to using Obama’s website for reference to information.

Barrack Obama didn’t only make an awesome campaigning website but he also used many other websites like youtube, facebook, myspace, and a couple other ones I forget their names. This was very advantageous to Obama towards his campaign because it got him many votes from the youth that usually would not vote at all. I think the main reason it really inspired kids to vote is because the only reason they didnt vote before was because they simply didn’t know the issues. This way the instead of youth having to track down the facts which they won’t do they were given to them convenientally.

Now that we have seen the results of this election. Plus the result, Obama winning by a land slide. I am sure it will change the way campaigns will be run from now on. Base 10 is the number system we use everyday using the numbers 0-9 to make up numbers like 64351. Binary uses 1s and 0s to make such numbers. Hexadecimal uses numbers and letters to make a number. Expanding off of Base 10….0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,a,b,c,d,e,f. Hexadecimal is the exact same as Base 10 except a=10 b=11 c=12 d=13 e=14 f=15

Altair BASIC was an interpreter for the BASIC programming language that ran on the MITS Altair 8800 and subsequent S-100 bus computers. It was Microsoft‘s first product (as Micro-Soft), distributed by MITS under a contract. Altair BASIC was the start of the Microsoft BASIC product range.

Roberts agreed to distribute the interpreter. He also hired Gates and Allen to maintain and improve it, causing Gates to take a leave of absence from Harvard. They produced several versions: the original 4K BASIC and later 8K BASIC, Extended Basic, Extended ROM BASIC, and Disk BASIC. As they expected, the Altair was very popular with hobbyists such as the Homebrew Computer Club. Altair BASIC, as MITS’s preferred BASIC interpreter, was also popular. However, the hobbyists took a “share-alike” approach to software and thought nothing of copying the BASIC interpreter for other hobbyists. Homebrew member Dan Sokol was especially prolific; after somehow obtaining a pre-market tape of the interpreter, he made 25 copies and distributed them at the next Homebrew meeting, urging recipients to make more copies. Gates responded in 1976 with a strongly-worded Open Letter to Hobbyists that accused the copiers of theft and declared that he could not continue developing computer software that people did not pay for. Many hobbyists reacted defensively to the letter.

Under the terms of the purchase agreement, MITS would receive the rights to the interpreter after it had paid a certain amount in royalties. However, Microsoft had developed versions of the interpreter for other systems such as the Motorola 6800. When they decided to leave MITS, a dispute arose over whether the full amount had been paid and whether the agreement applied to the other versions. Microsoft and MITS took the dispute to an arbitrator, who much to Roberts’s surprise decided in favor of Microsoft. BASIC interpreters remained the core of Microsoft’s business until the early 1980s, when it shifted to MS-DOS.
